In a courageous act, a group of witnesses successfully removed a pilot from a burning helicopter after it crashed in the woods of a New Hampshire town, according to local police. The incident took place on Saturday around 12:50 p.m. in the vicinity of 208 Dean Road in Danbury, prompting emergency personnel to respond quickly.

Authorities confirmed that the pilot, who was operating a Hughes TH-55 helicopter, lost control near a landing site and crashed. The impact caused the helicopter to catch fire, with the flames spreading to the surrounding woods. Fortunately, firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it caused further damage.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) revealed that the pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft at the time of the crash. Despite partially exiting the helicopter after the impact, the pilot remained in a perilous situation until the timely intervention of witnesses who heard the crash and rushed to the area.

Without hesitation, these brave individuals completely removed the pilot from the burning wreckage and provided vital aid until first responders arrived on the scene. Police commended their swift actions, stating that they were "instrumental" in saving the pilot's life.

Following the rescue, the injured pilot was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment. Although the pilot sustained serious injuries, the medical staff confirmed that they were non-life-threatening in nature.

Starting on Monday, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FAA will conduct a thorough investigation into the crash. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information regarding the incident to contact the Danbury Police Department.

This extraordinary event serves as a reminder of the brave individuals who selflessly put themselves at risk to save others. The actions of these heroic witnesses provide a shining example of community solidarity and the immense gratitude we owe to those who consistently go above and beyond to help others in times of need.
