**Two Victims Released from Hospital Following Graduation Shooting at University of Minnesota**

The University of Minnesota has confirmed that the two victims injured outside Mariucci Arena after a graduation ceremony on Friday have been released from the hospital. The wounded individuals, identified as a 19-year-old and a 49-year-old man, were discharged on Sunday afternoon, according to a statement from a university spokesperson.

The spokesperson also noted that while the investigation into the incident remains active, no information regarding potential charges against the arrested suspect could be provided. The identity of the suspect, apprehended by police shortly after the occurrence, has yet to be disclosed by authorities.

On Sunday, Wayzata Public Schools identified the 49-year-old victim as a parent of a Wayzata High School student. The shooting, which took place around 8:20 p.m. on Friday night, followed the conclusion of a graduation ceremony for Wayzata High School held at the 3M Arena at Mariucci. First responders quickly arrived at the scene, transporting the two injured men to the hospital and taking a suspect into custody.

Dave Hughbanks, another parent present at the ceremony, described the chaotic aftermath. "There was a pop that I thought was a car backfire," Hughbanks recalled. "Then people started screaming, and I ran over to see a man on the ground who had been shot." Hughbanks used his t-shirt to put pressure on one of the victim's wounds until authorities arrived.

As the investigation progresses, the University of Minnesota Police Department has not released details regarding the sequence of events during the shooting.

In a message to the community, the superintendent of Wayzata Public Schools conveyed gratitude for the recovery of the injured parent and the second victim. Stressing the importance of refraining from spreading unverified information, the superintendent confirmed that the safety measures were in place during the ceremony, including metal detectors and the presence of law enforcement.

Wayzata High School will make counseling and support services available next week to help students and staff process the incident. The superintendent urged the community to stay focused on celebrating the achievements of the 934 graduates and emphasized the ongoing commitment to enhanced security at future events.
