The remarkable sum comes just over a week after former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton joined forces with President Biden, helping him raise $26 million at a successful fundraiser in New York. The event widened the cash gap between the two campaigns, with Biden's campaign already boasting $192 million last month, more than double the amount Trump currently holds in his coffers.

Among the attendees at the Saturday fundraiser were Melania Trump, the former first lady, who is scheduled to host her own fundraiser for her husband later this month in collaboration with the Log Cabin Republicans. Other notable figures in attendance included Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, and Vivek Ramaswamy.

During his private remarks at the event, the former president reportedly emphasized the importance of extending tax cuts specifically targeting wealthier Americans. This focus on tax cuts for the affluent aligns with Trump's previous stance on economic policies.

Showing no signs of slowing down, Trump is set to host yet another major fundraising event on Wednesday in Atlanta, according to Politico. This event is expected to further boost his campaign's financial standing as he strives to close the gap and keep up with the formidable fundraising machine of President Biden and the Democrats.

With the fundraising gap continuing to widen, both campaigns are diligently vying for financial support as they gear up for the next phase of the political landscape. As the 2022 midterm elections draw closer, the battle for campaign funds will intensify, highlighting the crucial role that financial resources play in the world of politics.
