In a shocking twist to a two-week-long search, former Indianapolis Colts player Daniel Muir has been arrested after his missing teenage son, Bryson Muir, was found safe and well at the family's residence in Kokomo, Indiana. The 14-year-old boy is now under the care of the Cass County Department of Child Services, according to Indiana State Police.
Daniel Muir, aged 40, was taken into custody on Wednesday morning, facing charges of domestic battery and obstruction of justice. Additionally, his wife and the boy's mother, 38-year-old Kristin Muir, was also arrested and charged with obstruction of justice, according to the police.
Bryson's disappearance began on June 16 when he was last seen leaving a relative's home in Ohio with his mother. They had left in a car belonging to the Servant Leader's Foundation, a religious organization that owns the property where the Muir family resides. However, when the car was pulled over by the police, the teenage boy was nowhere to be found.
Soon after, the Cass County Department of Child Services requested a police investigation into allegations of domestic battery concerning Bryson. The police attempted to reach his parents initially but were unsuccessful. They later agreed to bring Bryson to meet with the police, only to cancel the arrangement, which raised concerns about their willingness to cooperate.
After an extensive search, on Wednesday, the authorities finally located Bryson at the family's home. Police released a photo showing the 14-year-old with a black eye, sparking further investigation into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and injuries. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact the police at 800-382-0689.
The investigation remains ongoing as the authorities work to unravel the complex dynamics involved in this case. The swift action taken by the police in finding Bryson and the subsequent arrests highlight the seriousness with which they are treating the charges against Daniel and Kristin Muir.
