Bure stated that she watched the first few episodes of the series and was deeply affected by Bell's account, describing it as heartbreaking, tragic, and disgusting. The actress commended Bell for his bravery in opening up about the abuse, while acknowledging that her heart breaks for him.

It was during this time that the abuse took place. Peck was later convicted of child molestation in 2004, but Bell's identity as the victim was not revealed until two decades later.
