Former "General Hospital" Actor Johnny Wactor Fatally Shot in Downtown LA
LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Los Angeles Police Department has released images of three suspects and the getaway car involved in the shooting of former "General Hospital" actor Johnny Wactor. The incident took place in downtown Los Angeles when Wactor interrupted thieves who were stealing the catalytic converter from his car.
The police released two images on Sunday, seeking the community's help in identifying the suspects. One of the images shows the stolen vehicle, a 2018 black Infiniti Q50 with a tan interior. The other image displays three individuals standing outside the car.
According to the police alert, Wactor was shot in the chest by "suspect 1" who has tattoos above the left eye and on the right cheek. The shooting occurred around 3:20 a.m. on May 25. Wactor's mother, Scarlett Wactor, shared that her 37-year-old son was leaving work at a rooftop bar with a coworker when he noticed someone near his car and initially assumed it was being towed. However, a masked suspect opened fire, leading to Wactor's tragic death. The three suspects then fled the scene in the stolen Infiniti.
Johnny Wactor, known for his role as Brando Corbin in the popular ABC soap opera from 2020 to 2022, also had appearances in various films and TV series such as "Station 19," "NCIS," "Westworld," and the video game "Call of Duty: Vanguard."
The LAPD is urging anyone with information about the suspects or the stolen Infiniti to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation. In a devastating loss for the entertainment industry, Johnny Wactor's untimely demise has shocked his colleagues and fans alike. The authorities are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide closure to the grieving family.
