In an unexpected turn of events, former President Donald Trump compared his Democratic presidential rival, Kamala Harris, to his own wife, Melania Trump, during an interview with tech billionaire Elon Musk on Monday night. The conversation, initially advertised as a game-changing "conversation," turned into a friendly two-hour-long interview, plagued by technical difficulties and questions about Trump's apparent lisp.

During the interview, Trump launched into a scathing critique of Harris's leadership abilities, labeling her as "terrible." However, he quickly shifted gears, praising her "beautiful" appearance, causing many to question his sudden change of tone.

"We need smart people, and people who have the ability to lead. She doesn't have that ability," Trump stated, speaking with a noticeable lisp. Musk, who maintained an amicable demeanor throughout the interview, acknowledged that such a meeting between Harris and Chinese President Xi Jinping would indeed be "silly."

Undeterred, Trump doubled down on his criticism of Harris, describing her as "terrible" and accusing her of receiving undue political advantages. He then abruptly transitioned to discussing Harris's physical appearance, drawing comparisons to his own wife, Melania Trump.

"I saw a picture of her on Time Magazine today. She looks like the most beautiful actress ever to live," Trump remarked, referring to the latest edition of Time Magazine, which highlights Harris's campaign as "the swiftest vibe shift in modern political history."

"She looked very much like our great first lady, Melania," Trump gushed, causing an awkward chuckle from Musk and an understated "yeah..." response. In an attempt to correct himself, Trump intentionally mispronounced Harris's name, stating, "She didn't look like Camilla." He added, "Of course, she's a beautiful woman and we'll leave it at that."

Musk, who identifies himself as a "free speech absolutist," vowed to utilize his X platform to combat what he refers to as the "woke mind virus." However, the highly anticipated live-stream encounter faced numerous issues, including a 40-minute delay due to an alleged cyberattack and technical glitches that eventually resolved around 8:40 PM ET, allowing the interview to commence.

Among his false claims were the repeated assertion that Venezuela is sending murderers and rapists to the US and the claim that the ocean will rise an eighth of an inch every 400 years, when it is projected to rise more than that annually.

In addition, Trump expressed admiration for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, stating that they shared dinner together and highlighting Kim's authoritative leadership style. He also praised Musk's decisive approach to leadership, referring to him as "the greatest cutter" for terminating employees who complain about working conditions.

Musk publicly endorsed Trump's presidential bid last month, marking a significant shift from his stance during the 2020 election, where he sided with President Joe Biden and the Democrats. Following the interview, Musk expressed willingness to host Harris on his X platform ahead of the November election, stating, "Happy to host Kamala on an 𝕏 Spaces too."

In response to the interview, Harris's campaign team released a scathing statement, labeling both Trump and Musk as "self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024."
