### Fisk University on 'High Alert' After Disturbing Messages
Fisk University officials are on heightened alert following the circulation of disturbing and offensive messages targeting the campus community. A spokesperson confirmed that the messages, which suggested threats of violence and intimidation, were deeply unsettling for students and staff.
A campus-wide alert issued on Wednesday evening indicated that the university suspects these messages may be generated by automated bots or malicious actors with no genuine intent or credibility. Nevertheless, the messages have raised significant concern among the community.
Maya Brown, executive director of Fisk's Office of Marketing and Communications, stated that the content of the messages is similar to those reported by other universities nationwide. The racist messages specifically target Black students, instructing them to report to locations where they would be taken to plantations to pick cotton.
Fisk University, a historically Black institution located near downtown Nashville, remains vigilant and is taking appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its students and staff. The situation continues to be monitored closely by campus safety officials.
