**DePaul University Men's Soccer Player Chase Stegall Found Dead in Dorm**

In a heartbreaking announcement, DePaul University confirmed the sudden death of Chase Stegall, a dedicated member of its men's soccer team. The 20-year-old sophomore was found unresponsive in his dormitory on the Chicago campus early Monday morning. The cause of his death remains undisclosed.

Chase Stegall's passing was formally announced through a joint statement released Monday afternoon by DeWayne Peevy, Vice President and Director of Athletics, and Mark Plotkin, the head coach of the men's soccer team. "We are heartbroken by the unexpected loss of Chase Stegall, a cherished member of our community, dedicated teammate, and kind-hearted friend," the statement read. Peevy and Plotkin expressed their condolences to Stegall's family, friends, and teammates, emphasizing that his absence will be profoundly felt across the entire DePaul community.

The student-run publication, The DePaulia, reported that Stegall was discovered deceased in his residence hall located on the university's Lincoln Park campus. As of now, no further details about the circumstances surrounding his death have been disclosed.

Chase Stegall was not only known at DePaul for his athletic talents but also for his family ties to notable football legend Milton Stegall. Milton Stegall, Chase's father, had a distinguished career in professional football, including three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL, followed by a remarkable 14-year tenure in the Canadian Football League. Among his many accomplishments, the elder Stegall was a nine-time CFL All-Star and held records for most career touchdowns and single-season touchdown achievements.

Stegall joined the DePaul soccer team in his freshman year but did not see any game action until his sophomore year, where he participated in 16 matches. He scored his only goal for the season in a game against Drake and logged nearly 400 minutes of playtime.
