**Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory Transferred to Miami Reentry Program**

Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory, co-founder of the infamous Black Mafia Family (BMF), will complete his prison sentence in a residential reentry program in Miami. The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed this recent move.

Convicted in 2008 for drug trafficking and money laundering, Flenory, 56, was initially sentenced to 30 years in federal prison. Recently transferred, Flenory will now spend his remaining sentence under the supervision of the Miami-based reentry center, which aids federal offenders in reintegrating into society.

The story of Flenory and his brother, Terry Flenory, reached a wider audience through Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson’s series "BMF," which premiered on Starz in 2021. The show, now in its third season, explores the siblings' rise from Detroit's inner city to influential drug kingpins intertwined with hip-hop culture.

Brittany K. Barnett, who represented Flenory and co-founded the Buried Alive Project, expressed her joy over his transition. "He used his time in prison to focus on personal growth and transformation, and now he has the opportunity to begin a new chapter," Barnett stated. She also emphasized the need for continued advocacy for a more just system, highlighting that many others remain incarcerated.

Demetrius Flenory, initially arrested in 2005, is scheduled to complete his sentence on January 27, 2026. Meanwhile, Terry Flenory, 54, is also serving his sentence for similar charges at a residential reentry center in Detroit, with a release date set for August 17, 2025.
