In a rehearsal mishap on the set of the Amazon Studios feature film "The Pickup", several crew members sustained injuries on Saturday. The incident occurred during the rehearsal of a second unit sequence, according to a statement from the studio on Tuesday.

A studio spokesperson confirmed that the sequence did not go as planned, leading to the unfortunate injury of multiple crew members. It was reported by the Associated Press that a truck unexpectedly crashed into a car after "locking up". As a result of the accident, two individuals were hospitalized, with injuries ranging from bruises to broken bones.

The film features renowned actor Eddie Murphy, alongside Keke Palmer and Pete Davidson. Fortunately, none of the three stars were present on set at the time of the incident, as reported by the AP.

In response to the accident, Amazon Studios expressed their concern for the injured crew members and stated that they are currently gathering more information about the incident. The spokesperson reiterated that the well-being of the entire crew and cast is their top priority. They also emphasized their commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards during filming, noting that all necessary precautions had been reviewed prior to and monitored during the shoot.

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), which represents crew members, has also begun an inquiry into the situation. In a statement, the union acknowledged the accident and expressed their intention to investigate further.

As of now, Amazon Studios and IATSE are working together to determine the cause of the accident and ensure such incidents are avoided in the future. The production company is committed to providing a safe working environment for all cast and crew involved in the making of "The Pickup".

It is hoped that the injured crew members will have a swift and complete recovery. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety protocols within the film industry, where the well-being of those involved should always be the primary concern.
