In a surprising turn of events, the transcript of a secret meeting held by Judge Ural Glanville in chambers with prosecutors and a key witness in Young Thug's gang and racketeering trial has been released. The transcript revealed heated discussions and accused the judge of colluding with prosecutors to coerce the witness.

During the meeting, prosecutors informed witness Kenneth Copeland that if he refused to testify, he could potentially be jailed until all defendants had their cases adjudicated, a process that could span several years. Defense attorneys expressed outrage, claiming they were excluded from the meeting and accused Judge Glanville of bias.

Facing intense scrutiny, Judge Glanville held Young Thug's attorney, Brian Steel, in contempt for refusing to disclose how he learned about the meeting. Two defense attorneys sought the judge's recusal, resulting in a halt of all proceedings until another judge can determine whether Glanville should remain on the case.

According to the released transcript, it was revealed that the Fulton County District Attorney's Office had requested the meeting without disclosing its subject matter to Judge Glanville. The judge's court reporter was present during the meeting, where concerns were raised about Copeland's understanding of the immunity agreement he had entered into in exchange for his testimony.

On June 7, Copeland was held in contempt and jailed for initially refusing to answer prosecutors' questions. However, after spending the weekend behind bars, Copeland eventually testified. It was during this meeting that prosecutors raised concerns about his safety, with Copeland's attorney, John Melnick, accusing them of endangering his client's life.

The transcript further revealed a tense exchange between prosecutors and Copeland's temporary attorney, Kayla Bumpus. Bumpus inquired about the duration of Copeland's potential incarceration if he refused to testify, to which both the prosecutors and Judge Glanville indicated that it could be an extended period of time. However, Glanville also mentioned that Copeland could be released that evening if he agreed to testify.

Throughout the meeting, concerns over Copeland's safety were raised, with prosecutors ensuring him that steps could be taken to protect him. In response to these concerns, ADA Simone Hylton firmly stated, "We ain't gonna kill him... We're not going to kill Kenneth Copeland." Judge Glanville referred to the possibility of harm as a "collateral second and third-order effect."

Interestingly, the meeting concluded with a discussion about Copeland's wardrobe. Copeland expressed his desire to wear his jail-issued jumpsuit in front of the jury, stating, "Y'all don't want to show the people how you all did me? I prefer to go in like this." Consequently, Copeland did testify wearing his jail clothes that day.

The release of the transcript has caused significant controversy in Young Thug's trial. The allegations of collusion between Judge Glanville and prosecutors and the concerns surrounding witness safety have raised important questions about the integrity of the legal process. As the case is temporarily put on hold, it remains to be seen how this will impact the overall proceedings and the eventual verdict.
