The incident occurred near the city of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk province. Serhiy Horbunov, head of the Kostiantynivka Military Administration, informed Ukraine's public broadcaster, Suspilne, about the development. Images revealed the charred wreckage of the aircraft, which had landed on a house, subsequently setting it ablaze.
In the same region, Russia's Defense Ministry declared on Saturday that it had seized control of the village of Zhelanne Druhe. This claim follows Ukraine's recent strategic withdrawal from the front-line town of Vuhledar, located 33 kilometers from Zhelanne Druhe. Ukrainian forces had fiercely defended Vuhledar for two years before relinquishing it, a move reflecting the nation’s increasingly precarious situation. Analysts attribute part of Ukraine’s declining position to the United States' refusal to permit Ukraine to target locations deep within Russian territory.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he will unveil a comprehensive "victory plan" at the upcoming Oct. 12 meeting of the Ramstein group, a coalition of nations supplying arms to Ukraine. Zelenskyy’s plan, which he presented to U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington last week, aims to outline concrete steps toward a just resolution to the war. The plan is understood to include Ukraine's intention to join NATO and a request for long-range missiles to strike within Russia.
In the southern Zaporizhzhia region, two individuals lost their lives due to Russian shelling, as reported by regional Governor Ivan Fedorov. Additionally, the Ukrainian air force indicated that Russia launched three guided missiles and 13 attack drones overnight into Saturday. Ukrainian defenses successfully intercepted the missiles and shot down three drones over the Odesa region, although ten drones remain unaccounted for.
In a related incident, nine people were injured when a Ukrainian drone struck a passenger bus in the Russian-occupied city of Horlivka, according to the city's Russian-installed Mayor Ivan Prikhodko. On the other hand, Russia's Defense Ministry reported the destruction of ten Ukrainian drones overnight in three border regions: seven over Belgorod, two over Kursk, and one over Voronezh.
