**Charges Filed in Death of Three-Year-Old Elijah Vue**

Authorities have filed charges in connection with the tragic death of three-year-old Elijah Vue, whose remains were identified more than a month ago. The Manitowoc County District Attorney, Jacalyn LaBre, confirmed that Vue's mother, Katrina Baur, and her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, are facing criminal charges.

Vue was reported missing by Vang on February 20. According to prosecutors, Baur had sent her son to live with Vang at his Two Rivers apartment as a disciplinary measure. Both Baur and Vang were jailed shortly after Vue was reported missing, initially on charges related to child neglect due to the appalling condition of the home and the treatment of the boy.

The charges against Vang have now escalated. He is accused of physical abuse of a child resulting in death, repeated acts causing death, hiding a corpse, and resisting or obstructing an officer. Baur is charged with chronic neglect of a child leading to death, neglecting a child, and resisting or obstructing an officer.

A bail hearing for both defendants is scheduled for Friday as the legal process progresses in this heartbreaking case.
