The lab specialized in the sophisticated manufacturing of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested a Punjab-origin man, Gaganpreet Randhawa, in connection with the operation.

Assistant Commissioner David Teboul, Commander of the RCMP Federal Policing Program in the Pacific Region, disclosed in a media bulletin that the enforcement action not only potentially saved over 95 million lives but also denied the crime group an estimated $485 million in profit. The seized items included a staggering 54 kg of fentanyl, 390 kg of methamphetamine, 35 kg of cocaine, 15 kg of MDMA, and 6 kg of cannabis.

Officials referred to the facility as the largest and most advanced 'super lab' capable of producing multiple types of illicit drugs. A substantial weapons cache was also discovered, totaling 89 firearms, including 45 handguns, 21 AR-15-style rifles, submachine guns, and several small explosive devices. Notably, nine of these weapons were identified as stolen.

Additionally, the searches yielded large quantities of ammunition, firearm silencers, high-capacity magazines, body armor, and $500,000 in cash. The operation was part of proactive measures to curb both domestic production and international export of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

From October 25, RCMP Federal investigators conducted coordinated enforcement actions across Metro Vancouver, executing search warrants on the 'super lab' in Falkland, BC, and associated locations in Surrey, BC. The RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime team discovered several large methamphetamine shipments destined for international export and, with the assistance of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), seized 310 kilograms of methamphetamine before it left Canada.

While the investigation continues and only one arrest has been made so far, federal policing investigators linked the operation to a recent RCMP CLEAR team action, which resulted in the seizure of 30 tonnes of precursor chemicals in Enderby, BC. The RCMP federal investigators are now focusing on determining the origins of these precursor chemicals.

Assistant Commissioner David Teboul highlighted the seizure of approximately 5000 liters, and over 10 tonnes, of powdered precursor chemicals used to produce fentanyl and MDMA. Of particular concern was the discovery of several tonnes of chemicals believed to be used to manufacture P2P (Phenyl-2-Propanone), a precursor essential for crystal methamphetamine production. This method, common among Mexican cartels, had not been previously seen in Western Canada.

The seized chemicals and finished fentanyl products could have resulted in 95 million potentially lethal doses of fentanyl, enough to endanger every Canadian life twice over. The concerted efforts of the RCMP have thus thwarted a major deadly threat to public health and safety.
