In a tragic turn of events, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) have discovered the decomposed body of an infant, believed to be 8-month-old Miya Tucker Rudd, who had been reported missing for over a month. The remains were found hidden inside the family's home in Reynolds Station, Kentucky, in a "concealed manner."

According to authorities, the discovery was made on Friday, June 14th, around 1:15 p.m. following an investigation by the KSP, Ohio County Coroner's Office, and Kentucky Medical Examiners Office. After processing the scene, the baby's body will be transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiners Office in Louisville for further examination.

The investigation into the infant's disappearance had begun earlier this month when the Kentucky State Police conducted a search warrant and welfare check at the family's residence. At that time, Miya was not found, sparking concerns among family members. The child had not been seen by relatives since May, leading to the official missing person report.

The circumstances surrounding Miya's disappearance took a distressing turn when her parents, Tesla Tucker, 29, and Cage C. Rudd, 30, were arrested on Wednesday while staying at a motel in Owensboro. During the arrest, law enforcement officials found the couple in possession of a significant quantity of drugs, including fentanyl. A police spokesperson confirmed that the parents have been uncooperative with the investigation.

Both Tucker and Rudd now face multiple charges, including first-degree trafficking in controlled substances (greater than 2 grams - methamphetamine), trafficking of illegal drugs, trafficking marijuana, first-degree child abuse, abandonment of a minor, engaging in organized crime, and possession of paraphernalia.

Further revelations emerged as Miya's grandfather, Ricky Smith, also present at the home, was charged with drug-related offenses, child abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child. Multiple drugs were discovered during the search of the residence, suggesting it may have been used as a base for drug trafficking.

In a separate development, Miya's grandmother, Billie J. Smith, was arrested on Friday and charged with second-degree domestic violence assault, as authorities discovered an outstanding warrant for her arrest from Daviess County dating back to October 2023.

The investigations into the disappearance of Miya Tucker Rudd, the circumstances surrounding her death, and the alleged drug-related activities are ongoing. The tragedy has left the community in shock and mourning, with authorities ensuring that all those involved are held accountable for their actions.
