Los Angeles police have arrested a man in connection with a brutal road rage attack that occurred at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on May 31. Jasan Givens Sr., 38, was apprehended by a joint task force of LAPD and airport police officials in South L.A.'s Chesterfield Square neighborhood on Friday.

Givens has been booked into the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Division jail on suspicion of felony battery, with bail set at $50,000. His first court appearance is scheduled for July 12.

The incident unfolded at approximately 9:25 a.m. when Givens and another man engaged in a heated dispute. Surveillance footage revealed that the altercation spilled into the street outside LAX's baggage claim area, where an elderly woman was standing by her vehicle as her luggage was being unloaded.

In the video, Givens can be seen chasing the shirtless man on the sidewalk before colliding with the elderly woman. Simultaneously, Givens tackled the other man from behind, resulting in the woman being knocked to the ground. She landed face-down and remained motionless as Givens and the other man grappled on the ground nearby.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rendered unconscious by the incident and was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. She has since been released, but the extent of her injuries remains undisclosed.

While Givens fled the scene, authorities managed to arrest the other man involved in the altercation. LAPD Detective Scott Danielson expressed shock at the lack of aid given to the injured woman, emphasizing that she could easily have been anyone's mother or grandmother.

The joint effort by the LAPD and airport police task force led to Givens' arrest on Friday morning, marking a crucial development in the investigation. The authorities are working diligently to ensure all parties involved are held accountable for their actions.

As the case progresses, the court appearance scheduled for July 12 promises to shed further light on the details of the incident. The arrest of Givens signifies a step forward in seeking justice for the victim, who suffered greatly during the road rage altercation at LAX.
