In a surprising turn of events, four-star Alabama 2025 defensive end Zion Grady has committed to play for Ohio State, following a successful official visit over the weekend. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound athlete had previously decommitted from Alabama after Nick Saban's retirement, paving the way for Ohio State's recruitment.

The Buckeyes wasted no time in offering Grady in February, keen on securing his talents. Facing fierce competition from top-tier programs such as Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee, and Miami, Ohio State managed to outshine the rest and secure Grady's commitment.

Grady made two visits to Ohio State, one in May and another over the weekend, where the Buckeyes' developmental plans proved to be the selling point for the young defensive end. The visit likely solidified his decision to join forces with Ohio State's strong football program.

Interestingly, Grady was accompanied on both visits by fellow Alabama resident Malik Autry, an interior defensive line target for Ohio State's 2025 class. While Autry remains committed to Auburn, Grady's commitment and the presence of five-star Alabama cornerback Na'eem Offord in Ohio State's recruiting class may make Autry's decision to join the Buckeyes more plausible.

With Grady now in the fold, Ohio State boasts a formidable defensive end lineup for the 2025 season, with Zahir Mathis and London Merritt already committed. Grady's pledge makes him the 19th overall commit for Ohio State, adding to the strength of their recruiting class.

Ohio State, however, does not plan to stop their pursuit of top defensive line targets. Trajen Odom, Damien Shanklin, Isaiah Gibson, Jarquez Carter, and Mariyon Dye remain on the Buckeyes' radar as they continue to build a competitive defense for the upcoming seasons.

Zion Grady's commitment to Ohio State signifies a significant addition to their already notable 2025 recruiting class. As the Buckeyes continue to secure top talents from across the nation, their chances of remaining consistently competitive in college football remain high.
