**One of Three Charged in Mac Miller's Fatal Overdose Released from Prison**

Cameron James Pettit, one of the three men accused of supplying the drugs that led to rapper Mac Miller's 2018 overdose, has been released from federal prison. Pettit was freed from the Federal Correctional Institution Mendota in California on October 11, according to a Bureau of Prisons representative.

Pettit was arrested in 2019 and faced charges of conspiring to distribute controlled substances resulting in death. Alongside him, Stephen Walter and Ryan Reavis were also apprehended and indicted on similar federal charges. In plea deals, Walter and Reavis each admitted to distributing fentanyl and received sentences of approximately 17 and 11 years, respectively.

Court records indicate that Pettit never entered a guilty plea to any of the charges. At his arraignment in 2019, Pettit maintained a not guilty plea but remained in federal custody up until his release. The current status of his case remains undisclosed by federal authorities.

Pettit, along with his co-defendants, Walter, and Reavis, were alleged to have sold counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl to Miller. The rapper's tragic death occurred in Los Angeles' Studio City neighborhood in 2018, bringing significant attention to the dangers of counterfeit prescription drugs.
