### Kenosha Student Charged with Making Terroristic Threats at Elementary School
A 13-year-old student has been formally charged with one count of making terroristic threats after entering Roosevelt Elementary School in Kenosha on Thursday morning. The student, who was carrying both a backpack and a duffel bag, was taken into custody at his home later that afternoon following his surrender, Kenosha police announced on Friday.
During a search of the student's home, detectives recovered several replica firearms, including airsoft handguns and a replica rifle, although no actual firearms were found. The suspect's mother cooperated fully with the investigation and confirmed that her son does not have access to real weapons. Authorities have made no other arrests in relation to the incident.
In interviews with detectives, the student initially claimed that he had gone to the school to sell candy. However, he later admitted to a social worker that his actual intent was to frighten the other students. The investigation remains active, and Kenosha police are seeking any additional information that the public may have.
Roosevelt Elementary School did not hold classes on Friday, which had already been scheduled as a staff workday. The police continue to urge anyone with relevant information to come forward as they work to further understand the motives and implications of this incident.
