KYIV, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Ukrainian military intelligence reported on Friday that Ukrainian naval drones successfully attacked and sank two small Russian landing boats in Crimea. The incident occurred in Vuzka Bay, located on the west side of the peninsula.

The initial report indicated that the attack took place overnight, with subsequent updates confirming that the assault was carried out by naval drones. The two vessels targeted were identified as an Akula class landing craft and a Serna class landing craft.

According to the Ukrainian military intelligence report, the drones' attack resulted in the complete destruction of both vessels, with the Akula sinking immediately and the Serna sinking after attempts were made to salvage it. The ships were crewed and loaded with armored vehicles at the time of the attack.

The Russian government, which seized and annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, has not yet commented on the incident. Reuters has been unable to independently verify the report.

The Ukrainian military also revealed that some Russian navy vessels have been relocated from their base in Sevastopol in response to recent attacks. The exact details of these attacks were not provided.

In separate fighting reports, Russia's defense ministry claimed that Russian air defenses successfully brought down two Ukrainian drones over Crimea and one over the Tula region south of Moscow on Friday morning. Kyiv has not issued an immediate response to these claims, and Reuters is currently unable to verify the report.

Ukrainian officials have stated that Russian artillery and drone attacks have caused three fatalities and damaged infrastructure, power lines, and a gas pipeline in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions. No further details were provided regarding the extent of the damage or the specific targets.

The reported incident marks another escalation in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which started in February 2022 when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Despite Ukraine's counteroffensive in the south and east, Russian occupying forces have proven to be a significant obstacle.

As the situation continues to unfold, both Ukraine and Russia remain locked in a tense standoff, with further developments expected in the coming days.
