Trump Claims Taylor Swift Won't Endorse Biden Due to Loyalty and Financial Gains

In a recent post on social media platform Truth Social, former President Donald Trump denied any animosity towards pop superstar Taylor Swift and asserted that there is "no way" she would endorse Joe Biden. Trump reasoned that Swift would remain loyal to him because he "made her so much money" through copyright reform legislation.
Trump, who signed the Music Modernization Act in 2018, took credit for benefiting not just Swift but all musical artists. He emphasized that Biden had not done anything for her and implied that endorsing the Democratic candidate would be disloyal to the man who had contributed significantly to her financial success.
However, Trump's claim seems contradictory given Swift's previous outspoken criticisms of him and her endorsement of Biden during the 2020 election. In an Elle piece published in 2019, Swift criticized Trump's use of racist messaging and his disregard for dissent and debate in a democratic society. She further expressed her pro-choice stance and tweeted her strong opposition to having Trump as the president.
Rolling Stone reported recently that Trump privately promised a "holy war" against Swift if she were to endorse Democrats in future elections. He suggested that he had a higher popularity than Swift and that his supporters were more dedicated than hers.
While Swift has remained tight-lipped regarding her political preferences and endorsements, she has recently gained attention for attending NFL games and supporting Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce, who will be playing in the Super Bowl. However, right-wing conspiracy theories circulating on alt-right platforms and Fox News suggest that her appearances are orchestrated by the Democratic Party and the NFL to build momentum for a potential Biden endorsement.
It is worth noting that neither Swift nor Kelce have made any public statements regarding their political affiliations or endorsements. Kelce, however, showed his support for the Black Lives Matter movement in 2017 by taking a knee during the national anthem, becoming one of the first white players to do so. Additionally, Kelce has a sponsorship deal worth $20 million with Pfizer to promote their Covid-19 vaccine.
Trump's comment on Sunday also touched on his opinion of Kelce, expressing a mild fondness despite assuming that the football player identifies as liberal and may not appreciate him.
As the 2024 election approaches, the question of Swift's potential endorsement remains unanswered. Meanwhile, conspiracy theories continue to circulate, generating discussions about the intersection of politics, entertainment, and sports.
