Three Victims Identified in Tragic UNLV Campus Shooting

LAS VEGAS - The Clark County coroner's office has identified the third victim of the shooting incident that took place on Wednesday at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) campus. The victim has been identified as 69-year-old Naoko Takemaru, a resident of Las Vegas. The cause of death has been determined as "multiple gunshot wounds."

Earlier, authorities had identified the other two victims of the tragic incident as Professor Cha Jan "Jerry" Chang, 64, from Henderson, Nevada, and Assistant Professor Patricia Navarro Velez, 39, from Las Vegas.

The shooting took place on Wednesday, but the identities of the victims were officially released on Thursday after their families had been informed. The UNLV community and residents of Las Vegas continue to mourn the loss of these esteemed educators.

A visiting professor, whose name has not been disclosed, was also injured in the shooting and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. The latest update from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) suggests that the individual's condition remains stable.
