Authorities in three cities in New Mexico have launched investigations after the discovery of suspicious items on Monday. While one device was confirmed to be explosive, two others were found to be harmless.

The Deming Police Department confirmed the discovery of an explosive device near the Luna County Magistrate Court in Deming, New Mexico. As a precautionary measure, authorities have urged people to avoid traveling in the area, fearing the presence of a second explosive device. The police are currently leading the investigation in Deming.

In Las Cruces, another suspicious item was found at an adult probation center. However, after a thorough inspection, it was determined that the item was actually an empty box. The Las Cruces Police Department swiftly concluded that it posed no threat.

Meanwhile, in Albuquerque, at the U.S. Attorney's Office, a third suspicious item was intercepted at the loading dock. This item, discovered through X-ray screening, was reported to contain a pipe-shaped object with wires. However, upon further assessment, it was determined that the item was also harmless. The investigation into this incident is being carried out by the local law enforcement authorities, as well as the New Mexico State Police.

The FBI has been called in to assist in the investigation of all three incidents. The precise nature of the devices and the possible motives behind their placement have not been disclosed at this time.

Authorities in all three cities continue to work diligently to ensure the safety of the public. Further updates on these investigations are expected to be provided as additional information becomes available.
