PITTSBURGH - Three men have been arrested in connection with the conspiracy and killing of their business associate, George Dayieb, in a case that spanned six counties across the region. Jeremy Fisher, 41, of Coraopolis, Braden Elliott, 20, of Chicora, and William Fortuna, 58, of Conway, now face multiple charges, including homicide.
The investigation began on Wednesday, December 27, when Kennedy Township police discovered an abandoned black Ford F-350 near Robinson Boulevard and Ewing Road. It was later determined that the vehicle was registered to F5 Construction Services, owned by the missing Dayieb.
According to court records, Dayieb had met Fisher, with whom he had a three-year association, at a Citgo gas station in Coraopolis to collect a substantial debt of approximately $440,000 owed by Fisher for construction equipment. However, Dayieb's partner informed investigators that Fisher had promised the money would be wired to him by December 26 but it was never received.
Surveillance footage captured Dayieb entering Fisher's vehicle near the gas station, confirming their meeting. Subsequently, the trio headed towards Butler County, where Elliott, seated behind Dayieb, allegedly attempted to shoot him in the back of the head. However, a gun malfunction prevented the shot from being fired.
Stopping at a gas station, Fortuna joined Elliott and repaired the malfunctioning gun. Continuing their journey, the group arrived at the Mercer Road bridge on Route 422 in Portersville. Acting on a text from Fisher, Elliott shot Dayieb once in the back of the head, resulting in his death.
After the murder, Fisher directed Elliott to dispose of Dayieb's body in Myers Hollow Road, located in Licking Township, Clarion County. Witnesses reported seeing police activity in the wooded area near a trailer and camper, leading to the discovery of Dayieb's remains.
Through an intensive investigation utilizing cell phone data, license plate recognition technology, video surveillance, and combined efforts from multiple law enforcement agencies, detectives were able to identify the three suspects and locate the victim's body. Allegheny County Police Assistant Superintendent Victor Joseph expressed gratitude for the tireless efforts of the investigators.
On Friday, following the recovery of Dayieb's remains, Fortuna was apprehended in Beaver County, Elliott was arrested in Butler County, and Fisher was caught in Washington County. Besides the main charge of homicide, the three men now also face additional charges, including tampering and fabricating physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
The suspects are currently held in Allegheny County jail without bail. Assistant Superintendent Joseph stated that the authorities are relieved to bring closure to Dayieb's family after the distressing days they have endured.
As the investigation continues, authorities have not disclosed any additional information regarding possible motives or any further developments in the case.
