WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minnesota - Kelly Witter, a resident of White Bear Lake, was left perplexed when over 140 packages from retail giant Target unexpectedly arrived at her doorstep within a span of four days. Now, after a year of receiving misdelivered packages and failed attempts to resolve the issue, Target has issued an apology and taken action to rectify the situation.

Witter's ordeal began over a year ago when she received a package addressed to her, but with an order meant for someone else. Initially, the frequency was one to two boxes per month, but it gradually increased to three to four boxes. Each time Witter contacted Target, the response was an apology but with no resolution. Attempts to return the packages were dismissed as being cost-prohibitive.

The situation took an unprecedented turn just days before Black Friday when Witter received a phone call from a delivery service while she was away from home. Expecting a Christmas present, she instructed the delivery service to leave it on the counter by the mailboxes. Little did she know, 133 boxes were stacked there, catching her completely off guard.

Since then, Witter has been continuously reaching out to Target, as a steady stream of packages continues to arrive daily. Each package is addressed to her, but upon opening them, she discovers invoices intended for orders sent to someone else, somewhere else in the country.

Witter expressed her frustration, stating, "Everyone's coming out of the woodwork, asking if I have cute red ones. Some even suggested selling them, but that's not who I am. I couldn't do that. That's why I held on to these for so long."

WCCO, a local news station, contacted Target to seek an explanation for this unusual and persistent delivery mishap. In response, a Target spokesperson acknowledged that the products were shipped in error from a Target vendor and assured that measures were being taken to stop the mistaken shipments. The spokesperson also expressed the company's desire to understand how such a mistake occurred in the first place.

Furthermore, Target has arranged for the pickup of all the mistakenly delivered packages from Witter's home. To make amends for the inconvenience caused, they have offered Witter a gift card. In a surprising and heartwarming gesture, Target has decided to donate all the mistakenly shipped glasses to charity.

Witter, visibly moved to tears, expressed her gratitude for the gift card and was relieved to know that the eyewear would go to those in need. She had taken the initiative to keep every single invoice, intending to give Target a chance to rectify the situation before considering donating the glasses herself to organizations like the VFW, the legions, veterans, and the local food shelf.

"I can just laugh at it relieved that it's gonna be taken care of. And I did the right thing," Witter concluded.

Target has extended its sincere apologies to Witter and appreciates her bringing this matter to their attention. While the exact details of how the mistake occurred remain unclear, the company has taken swift action to resolve the situation, ensuring that Witter's experience does not go unnoticed.
