In a series of shocking crimes that have gripped the city of Los Angeles, a 33-year-old man has been arrested and identified as the suspect in a string of murders. Jarred Joseph Powell, already in custody for a follow-home robbery and murder in San Dimas, is now connected to three additional killings of homeless men in different parts of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) made the announcement, with LAPD Chief Michel Moore confirming Powell's involvement in the four murders. The homeless victims were allegedly shot and killed while they slept during the early morning hours.

The first murder occurred on Sunday, November 26, at approximately 3 a.m. in the southeast area of Los Angeles, specifically in an alley behind 836 West 110th Street. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Jose Vamos, was found dead at the scene.

The second murder took place on Monday, November 27, around 4:55 a.m. in the Central Division on the 800 block of East Seventh Street. The victim, identified as 62-year-old Mark Digs, was discovered near a rear wall.

The third murder occurred on Wednesday, November 29, at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the Hollenbeck division near the intersection of South Avenue 18 and Pasadena Avenue. The victim, a 52-year-old male, was fatally shot.

In addition to these three crimes, Powell is also implicated in a follow-home robbery and alleged murder that took place on Tuesday, November 28. The victim, Nicholas Simbolon, aged 42, was shot and killed as he parked his Tesla inside his garage on Hawkbrook Drive. Detectives believe that Powell followed Simbolon home from a vehicle charging station on the 200 block of South Citrus Street in West Covina.

Mayor Karen Bass expressed deep concern during the manhunt for the suspect, urging the homeless population to seek shelter immediately for their safety.

Powell's arrest comes as a major breakthrough for the LAPD, bringing hope for justice to the grieving families and the Los Angeles community. The investigation into these heinous crimes is ongoing, with law enforcement agencies working diligently to gather evidence and build a strong case against Powell.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information related to these incidents to come forward and assist in the investigation. The safety of the community remains their top priority as they continue to piece together the events leading to these tragic murders.
