Three teenage boys were injured in a reported stabbing at Van Nuys High School on Wednesday morning, according to authorities. The incident prompted a brief lockdown of the school as officials searched for the suspect.

A call was made shortly before 10:55 a.m. to report the stabbing, stating that two, possibly three victims had been stabbed. Melissa Ohana, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect is still at large.

The Los Angeles School Police Department revealed that the stabbing occurred following a fight in the campus quad area. Two boys, who were walking to their car after leaving campus, were attacked by a group who asked them where they were from.

Authorities have detained at least one juvenile at the scene, but the primary suspect remains unidentified. LAPD sources have disclosed a recent surge in gang activity in the San Fernando Valley, which has unfortunately spilled over into public schools, including Van Nuys High, Grant High, and Polytechnic High.

The injured students were taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Nicholas Prange, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department, confirmed that one victim has been transported so far, with additional ambulances expected to arrive.

The incident has prompted the mother of one of the injured students to file a complaint with the Chaffey Joint Union High School district. She plans to press charges against one of the students involved in the altercation.

Authorities have assured the community that they are actively investigating the incident and working to ensure the safety and security of the students. As the search for the suspect continues, Van Nuys High School is expected to resume normal operations following the lockdown.

Parents and students are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or threats to the authorities.
