According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Polish farmers have completed their traffic blockade for trucks near the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint on the border with Ukraine. The protest, which began on November 6, came to an end on December 23 at 09:30 (Kyiv time), as informed by the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland.

As a result of this development, the registration and crossing of trucks entering Ukraine is now being carried out as usual at the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint. The State Border Guard Service, in collaboration with control services employees, is working diligently to ensure the smooth passage of the maximum number of trucks. They have urged drivers to take this information into account when planning international transportation.

Prior to the blockade's resolution, a total of four checkpoints were reported to be blocked on the Poland-Ukraine border - Rava Ruska, Krakivets, Yahodyn, and Shehyni. According to the Polish border guards, over 4,000 vehicles were waiting in queues at the border with Ukraine, with the intention of crossing into the country.

The main demands put forth by the Polish carriers and farmers during the blockade included the reinstatement of permits for Ukrainian carriers, which were suspended as per the agreement with the EU until June 30, 2024. Although it caused significant disruptions and delays in trade and transportation between the two countries, the blockade has now come to an end, bringing relief to both truck drivers and businesses involved in cross-border operations.

With the resumption of truck movement, it is expected that the backlog of vehicles awaiting crossing will gradually dissipate, facilitating a smoother flow of goods and reducing the strain on the transportation industry. The conclusion of this protest marks a significant step towards resolving the logistical challenges that have been faced by the Polish and Ukrainian border authorities in recent weeks.

The news of the blockade's end will also serve as a relief to businesses affected by the disruption, as trade and commerce between Poland and Ukraine can now resume their normal course of operations without continued interruptions. This development will undoubtedly have a positive impact on both nations' economies, as the flow of goods and services can now regain momentum.

Overall, the collaborative efforts between the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland have successfully brought about the end of the truck blockade, allowing for the uninterrupted movement of vehicles and trade between the two countries.
