One Killed, Three Injured in Dubuque-Wisconsin Bridge Crash

Authorities are currently investigating a tragic accident that occurred on the Dubuque-Wisconsin Bridge, resulting in one fatality and leaving three people injured.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report, the incident took place on Saturday at approximately 5:45 p.m. in one of the inside northbound lanes of the bridge. The initial collision occurred when a vehicle struck a wheelbarrow that was present in the travel portion of the lane.
Upon exiting their vehicle to assess the damage, the occupants were struck by a second vehicle, further exacerbating the already dangerous situation. The report does not disclose the identities of those involved as authorities are still in the process of notifying the families.
Tragically, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while another person had to be airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for urgent medical attention. Additionally, two other people were transported to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital via ambulance.
