The body of Keith McKechnie, a 45-year-old man from Avon, has been found in a well on Saturday night, more than two months after he was last seen, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.

McKechnie was reported missing by Avon police on November 22, after he was last seen leaving his home at 34 East High St on September 7, as stated by the district attorney's office. A search operation was initiated on November 25 in a heavily wooded area on the property where McKechnie often walked, with the assistance of Avon police, firefighters, and Massachusetts State Police.

During the search, authorities focused their efforts on an old well on the property, which had been previously searched, according to the authorities' statement. Tragically, McKechnie's body was discovered in the well, and it was later identified as him by the district attorney's office.

The body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Boston for an autopsy, which is expected to be completed in the coming days. The purpose of the autopsy is to determine the cause of death, as no obvious signs of trauma were observed on the body, as mentioned by the medical examiner's office.

District Attorney Morrissey expressed his sympathy towards the McKechnie family, stating, "Our thoughts are very much with the McKechnie family tonight. This is a very sad result."
