In the meteorological update for Wednesday, November 7th, 2023, KSN Storm Track 3 Meteorologist Ronelle Williams predicts a gradual clearing of fog and cloudy conditions by midday, allowing for the emergence of partly cloudy skies and some sunshine towards the end of the day.
Southerly winds will remain light throughout the day, contributing to a mild warming trend, with afternoon highs expected to reach the 70s. Some areas to the southwest may even experience temperatures in the 80s, attributing to the south flow and mostly to partly sunny skies.
As the night sets in, light winds, cool temperatures, and fair skies may result in the development of areas of fog once again on Wednesday morning. However, temperatures are expected to stay above freezing, mitigating any concerns of freezing fog.
The arrival of the next cold front on Wednesday will bring a stronger breeze, aiding in the dispersion of the morning fog. Although there is a small chance of a sprinkle or shower in the northwest, moisture will be limited with the passage of this disturbance.
Throughout the midweek period, temperatures will range from the upper 50s to the low 70s, with cooler conditions prevailing in the northwest and warmer temperatures in South Central Kansas. Thursday is forecasted to be the coolest day of the week as the front continues its southern movement.
Moisture associated with the boundary may attempt to work its way back into the region from the south on Thursday, primarily during the afternoon and evening hours.
Looking towards the end of the work week, dry conditions can be expected, although another system approaching over the weekend could potentially bring some moisture late Saturday into early Sunday. However, high pressure is expected to maintain dominance, resulting in mainly dry conditions.
According to Meteorologist Ronelle Williams' forecast, for today (November 7th), dense fog in the morning will gradually give way to partly cloudy skies. Afternoon temperatures are expected to reach a high of 75 degrees, with winds coming from the east to southeast at 5-15 mph.
Tonight, partly cloudy conditions will prevail, accompanied by areas of fog. The low temperature for the night is expected to be around 48 degrees, with winds shifting from southeast to northwest at 5-15 mph.
Tomorrow (November 8th) will bring partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions. Areas of fog may persist in the morning, with temperatures reaching a high of 70 degrees. Winds will shift to the northwest, blowing at 10-20 mph.
Thursday (November 9th) is anticipated to be partly to mostly cloudy and breezy, with a 10% chance of sprinkles and showers. High temperatures will be in the range of 57 degrees, while the low temperature will drop to 34 degrees. Winds will blow at a moderate pace.
Friday (November 10th) will see mostly sunny conditions, with high temperatures around 58 degrees and lows around 33 degrees.
As we head into the weekend, Saturday (November 11th) is expected to be partly cloudy with a 10% chance of rain, as high temperatures reach 59 degrees and lows drop to 36 degrees.
Sunday (November 12th) will have partly cloudy skies, with high temperatures of 61 degrees and lows dropping to 41 degrees.
Looking ahead to Monday (November 13th) and Tuesday (November 14th), mostly sunny conditions are forecasted, with high temperatures of 63 and 65 degrees respectively. Lows are expected to be around 43 and 44 degrees, respectively, with breezy conditions on Tuesday.
In summary, the midweek forecast calls for gradual clearing of fog, the emergence of partly cloudy skies, and mild temperatures in the 70s. A breezy cool-down is expected with the arrival of a cold front, followed by the possibility of some moisture and slightly cooler temperatures later in the week.
