A search is currently underway in Gardner, Massachusetts for a man suspected of killing his wife, according to sources. Aaron Pennington, 33, is considered "armed and dangerous" and is the prime suspect in the homicide of his wife, 30-year-old Breanne Pennington. The tragic incident took place in the Penningtons' home on Sunday, where Breanne was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the face, as stated in court documents.

Following a police alert for the suspect's vehicle, a white BMW 320, it was discovered abandoned in a wooded area of Gardner on Monday evening by a hunter. This development prompted an extensive search operation in the surrounding area, involving multiple police agencies, including K-9 and aviation units. Gardner Police Chief Eric McAvene Jr. confirmed during a press briefing on Tuesday that law enforcement officials are working under the assumption that Aaron Pennington is still alive and evading capture.

The sequence of events began when the Penningtons' four children sought refuge at a neighbor's home on Sunday morning out of fear. It was reported that they were unable to find their father and discovered their mother crying in her bedroom. The concerned neighbor promptly contacted 911. Upon arrival, Gardner police officers conducted a sweep of the residence and found no other individuals or visible weapons present, according to the criminal complaint issued against Aaron Pennington.

Further investigation into the couple's relationship revealed that Breanne Pennington had plans to relocate with their children to Texas in order to distance herself from Aaron, who was reported to have suffered from mental health issues. The complaint also disclosed that Breanne possessed a firearm for personal protection at their residence, although neither party possessed a license to carry firearms in Massachusetts.

The ongoing search for Aaron Pennington is focused on a heavily wooded campground area utilized by the Boy Scouts and local churches. Authorities expressed the need for assistance from the public, urging individuals in the vicinity to check their surveillance footage, including any trail cameras, for possible sightings.

Aaron Pennington's background includes serving in the U.S. Air Force from 2015 to 2022, during which time he achieved the rank of senior airman. He transitioned to the reserves in mid-2022 before separating from the service on February 17. Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. emphasized the importance of determining the suspect's survivorship training, given his military background.

Law enforcement officials have advised the public to exercise caution and avoid approaching Aaron Pennington if encountered. Instead, they are urged to immediately contact 911 with any information to aid in his capture.

A description of the suspect provided by the police indicates that Aaron Pennington is a white male, standing at 6'2" tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information regarding Aaron Pennington's whereabouts is urged to contact the Massachusetts State Police at 508-829-8236 or the Gardner Police Department at 978-632-5600. As the manhunt continues, authorities remain committed to bringing justice for the tragic loss of Breanne Pennington's life.
