Former President Donald Trump attended a highly anticipated football game between South Carolina and Clemson over the weekend, where he faced both cheers and boos from the crowd. The event took place at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina, and marked Trump's return to a public appearance since leaving the White House.

Video clips of the game circulated on social media, capturing the moment when supporters cheered for Trump while some football fans visibly booed the 77-year-old former president. Trump was invited to attend as a guest of Governor Henry McMaster, who has endorsed his presidential bid.

As Trump's vehicle approached the stadium, a crowd began booing, but he ultimately received a mix of cheers and boos as he walked around, posed for photos, and waved to the crowd, according to reports from The Daily Beast and The Associated Press.

Prior to the game, several digital billboards in Columbia displayed messages aimed at Trump. Over half a dozen billboards exhibited phrases such as "You lost. You're guilty. Welcome to Columbia, Donald," with the sponsorship attributed to the League of Radical Leftists Vermin - Jay Bender Instigator, as reported by The State.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a far-right Representative from Georgia and vocal ally of Trump, took to Twitter to defend him following the event. She tweeted, "Trump is WINNING and the people love him! Joe Biden couldn't stay up late enough to go to a football game let alone have this massive cheering crowd for him. If Joe had gone to the game, it would have been FJB!"

The mixed reaction to Trump's presence at the football game highlights the continued divided sentiment towards the former president among the public. As political figures align themselves either in support or opposition to Trump, his appearances are expected to elicit various responses from different groups of people.

While the booing and billboards indicate that not everyone in attendance supported Trump, his presence also drew a considerable number of cheering fans. The contrasting reactions reflect the ongoing polarized political landscape in South Carolina and the United States as a whole.

It remains to be seen how Trump's future public appearances will be received, as he continues to remain active in political discussions and potential presidential bids for the future.
