FBI Probes Bomb Threats Targeting Rural Oregon Schools

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched an investigation into a series of bomb threats that targeted several rural schools in Oregon on Monday. The affected districts include Colton, Corbett, Central Linn, Cascade, and Arlington, prompting immediate evacuation measures.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Corbett Schools were evacuated due to a credible explosives threat. Deputy John Plock, Public Information Officer for the sheriff's office, stated that they were taking the threats seriously and responding with utmost caution. Students from Corbett Schools were safely transported to Corbett Community Church, where they were picked up by parents or authorized adults.
The Colton School District took precautionary measures by releasing students early due to safety concerns. In a statement, district officials emphasized the importance of prioritizing the safety and well-being of their students. As a result, all afternoon and evening activities were canceled.
Meanwhile, the Marion County Sheriff's Office launched their own investigation into the bomb threat directed at the Cascade School District. As a safety precaution, authorities decided to evacuate the students and closely examine the situation for any potential hazards.
Further south, the Arlington School District also experienced a scare when they received a suspicious email. The district promptly evacuated all schools and sought assistance from local law enforcement to assess the situation and ensure the safety of students and staff.
Central Linn school officials reported a similar threat within their district, prompting the involvement of Linn County deputies. Working together, they safely evacuated all schools and initiated a thorough search for any evidence related to the threat.
