The bodies of Jonathan Rivera, 38, Hanoi Peralta, 33, and their son Kayden Rivera, 5, were found inside an apartment building on 674 East 136th Street in Mott Haven.

The tragic discovery was made on Sunday morning when police responded to a 911 call at 6:40am. Officers found Mr. Rivera in the hallway of the building, covered in blood and suffering multiple stab wounds. Shortly after, the lifeless bodies of Ms. Peralta and Kayden were found inside their first-floor apartment, also bearing multiple stab wounds.

Jose Torres, the former superintendent of the building, spoke fondly of Kayden, whom he interacted with daily as he went to and from school.
