In a shocking turn of events, the family of Dexter Wade, the Mississippi man killed by a police SUV, is expressing their grief and outrage after discovering that his body was exhumed without their knowledge. This distressing incident has further compounded their pain and leaves them with unanswered questions.

Renowned civil rights attorney, Ben Crump, who is representing the Wade family, shared a letter from Hinds County Board of Supervisors Attorney Tony R. Gaylor to another lawyer representing the family, indicating that the exhumation would take place at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. However, when the family and their attorneys arrived, they were confronted with the shocking news that Wade's body had been taken at 8 a.m. that same day, without any family members present.

Crump expressed his disappointment at the handling of the case, saying, "There is no excuse for the way this case has been handled. Every time Ms. Wade takes a step toward getting answers as to what happened to her son, Jackson officials bring her two steps back." The attorney had hoped that Monday's exhumation could provide answers and closure for Wade's mother, but instead, it has only added to her trauma and left her with even more questions.

Prior to this distressing revelation, Bettersten Wade, Dexter's mother, had spent seven agonizing months believing that her son was missing. Unbeknownst to her, Dexter had been struck and killed by an off-duty officer in a police SUV in Jackson. In a disturbing twist, Dexter's body was buried in a pauper's field at a Mississippi penal farm.

The case surrounding Dexter Wade's death has been plagued by obscurity and a lack of transparency from the beginning. Despite Ms. Wade's tireless efforts and numerous requests for assistance, she remained unaware of what happened to her son for months, even after his identification.

Crump emphasizes the importance of justice, stating, "Justice delayed is justice denied, and we will keep fighting for justice in Dexter's name until his mother gets the closure she deserves."

This shocking incident of the exhumation of Dexter Wade's body without the knowledge or presence of his family highlights a distressing lack of communication and transparency surrounding the case. The Wade family's anguish continues to mount, and their search for justice and closure remains ongoing.
