At least six people have been killed and 16 others injured in a horrific missile attack on a postal terminal in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. According to officials, the Russian forces launched two missiles from the Belgorod region, near the Ukrainian border, targeting a building belonging to a logistics company on Saturday.

Dmytro Chubenko, the spokesperson for the Kharkiv region prosecutor's office, confirmed that the attack took place at a postal office, resulting in significant casualties. The incident has been described as a "horrific" act of violence against civilians by the United States Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink.

This attack comes as Russian forces continue their ongoing assault in eastern Ukraine, specifically targeting Kharkiv. The region, which was liberated from Russian occupation by Kyiv's troops last year, has been under constant threat from Russian aerial assaults.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, took to social media to condemn the attack, stating that "terror and murder" will not bring Russia any success. He assured that those responsible for these acts of terror will face justice.

The United States has expressed solidarity with Ukraine, vowing to hold Russia accountable for its actions. Ambassador Brink condemned the missile strike and emphasized the Kremlin's disregard for human life. She also highlighted the continuous violence inflicted by Russia upon civilians, referring to the attack as a stark example of their behavior.

In addition to the attack on the postal depot, separate airstrikes targeted the town of Beryslav in the southern Kherson region, resulting in the death of an elderly woman and injuries to seven others. The head of Kherson region military, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported that the occupiers launched four guided aerial bombs, causing severe damage.

Recent developments indicate that Ukraine's long-stalled counteroffensive has received assistance in the form of a secret delivery of long-range American ATACMS missiles. Ukrainian troops have reportedly crossed the Dnipro River into the Russian-occupied Kherson region, according to pro-Kremlin military bloggers.

As tensions escalate in the region, it remains crucial to address the devastating impact these attacks have on innocent civilians. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, urging both sides to seek a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.
