In the ongoing trial of Michelle Troconis, a suspect in the 2019 disappearance and death of Connecticut mother Jennifer Dulos, significant developments have unfolded. Troconis is currently on trial for conspiring to murder Jennifer, who is presumed dead, after vanishing from her New Canaan home on May 24, 2019.
Testifying on Wednesday, Connecticut State Police Ret. Sgt. Matthew Reilly revealed the existence of three "alibi scripts" discovered by authorities after Jennifer's disappearance. These scripted notes contained detailed accounts of Troconis and her boyfriend, Fotis Dulos', activities during the time Jennifer went missing. Troconis claimed that the notes were written under the advice of Fotis' divorce attorney, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Additionally, email exchanges between "Michelle" and "Jennifer" were referenced in one of the timelines presented in court. Another script showcased a series of phone calls with timestamps indicating when the calls were answered or missed. These pieces of evidence seem to suggest an attempt to establish an alibi.
Prosecutors have pointed to surveillance camera footage from Hartford, which allegedly shows Fotis and Troconis disposing of evidence in trash bins after Jennifer's disappearance. The police suspect that Fotis violently attacked Jennifer in her garage before driving away with her body.
During the trial, physical evidence recovered from the trash bins in Hartford was presented by the prosecutors. However, Jennifer's remains have never been found. Days before the start of Troconis' trial, a judge officially declared Jennifer, a mother of five, as deceased.
Testimony was also provided by Jennifer's nanny, Lauren Almeida, on January 18. Almeida, who was taking care of Jennifer's children when she vanished, revealed that she was aware of Jennifer and Fotis' divorce proceedings and Fotis' affair with Troconis, dating back to 2017.
Almeida testified, "We told the police that a mother of five was missing and that she was in a very contentious divorce. And I knew that [Fotis] had purchased a gun, and so I was afraid."
As the trial continues, the revelations regarding the alibi scripts and additional evidence recovered from the trash bins are expected to play a crucial role in determining Troconis' involvement in Jennifer's disappearance and presumed death.
