Four individuals who tragically lost their lives in a devastating house explosion near Whitmore Lake last week have been identified as a family from Arkansas. The victims have been named as Hope Bragg, Don Bragg, Kenny Bragg, and Elizabeth Bragg, according to a friend of the family, Matthew Rooney.

Hope Bragg, who worked as a 4H Instructor at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, and Don Bragg, a project leader for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service research station, were well-respected members of their respective professions. Both Braggs attended Michigan Technical University, based on their LinkedIn profiles.

The explosion occurred on Saturday, December 30 in the 8000 block of Winters Lane in Northfield Township. Emergency services were called to the scene following reports of a large explosion. The house was engulfed in flames upon arrival, and sadly, three individuals were found dead, while another person succumbed to their injuries at a nearby hospital. The ages of the victims have not been disclosed, and the condition of the injured individuals remains critical.

The investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing, and officials from the Northfield Township Police Department have requested that the public avoids the area to allow investigators to carry out their work.

In addition to their professional commitments, the Bragg family had a passion for archaeology. They actively participated in the Arkansas Archeological Society and provided significant support to archaeological research in the state. Kenny Bragg, who attended Michigan Technical University, was studying archaeology, while Elizabeth Bragg had recently graduated from Monticello High School.

The Bragg family was well-regarded by their friends and community. Known as the "family everyone aspired to be," they were described as loving, kind-hearted individuals who always put others before themselves. Their untimely loss has left the community in shock and deep sadness.

As investigations continue, the Northfield Township Police Department has assured the public that updates on the case will be shared as soon as possible. The cause of the explosion remains unknown at this time.

The tragic incident has not only claimed the lives of four individuals but has also left a significant impact on those who knew and admired them. The loss of the Bragg family has undoubtedly created a void in both the agricultural and archaeological communities, where their contributions and support will be sorely missed.
