Yuki Tsunoda Secures Future with RB for 2025 Season

RB Racing has confirmed that they have exercised the option to retain Yuki Tsunoda for the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Japanese driver, who made his debut with the team in 2021, has shown continuous progress and has emerged as a consistent points-scorer in the current season.

Tsunoda's standout performances in 2024 have garnered attention, with him finishing in the top-10 in five out of the eight Grands Prix so far. This impressive display has led RB to secure one of their seats early, with Tsunoda expressing his excitement about the decision.

"I'm very happy to be staying with RB and it's a good feeling to have my future decided so early in the year," Tsunoda said. He further extended his gratitude to everyone at Red Bull and Honda who have played a significant role in his career. Tsunoda also acknowledged the team's development project and expressed his willingness to contribute towards pushing RB further up the grid.

Entering his fifth season in Formula 1 with RB in 2025, Tsunoda emphasized his focus on the remaining races of the current season, aiming to accumulate as many points as possible. He expressed his ambition to continue growing with the team and laying the foundation for an even better performance next year.

RB Team Principal, Laurent Mekies, praised Tsunoda's progress, acknowledging his natural speed and highlighting his evolving maturity as a driver. CEO at RB, Peter Bayer, commended Tsunoda's extended stay with the team, emphasizing his status as a valuable asset both on and off the race track. Bayer credited the successful collaboration between Red Bull, Honda, and Tsunoda himself for his impressive performance.

Tsunoda's strong run of points has currently placed him in 10th position in the drivers' standings, with a tally of 19 points. Meanwhile, RB occupies sixth place in the constructors' championship, holding 24 points, 20 points behind Aston Martin in fifth and 17 points ahead of Haas in seventh.

As the 2025 Formula 1 season approaches, RB Racing has made a strategic move by securing Tsunoda's future with the team.
