Injuries took center stage during Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season, as several teams suffered critical blows to their key players. From ankle injuries to shoulder issues, the second weekend of play saw a number of impactful individuals forced to leave the field.

Tyjae Spears, the running back for the Titans, suffered an ankle injury during the second half of their game against the Jets. Spears was seen hobbling to the locker room alongside a trainer, his shoe off, as reported by ESPN.

MarShawn Lloyd, the Packers running back, unfortunately had to exit the field due to an ankle injury during their match against the Colts. He did not return for the remainder of the game.

The Jaguars were dealt a blow when Tank Bigsby, their running back, left the game against the Browns with a shoulder injury. The severity of the injury is yet to be determined.

Isiah Pacheco, the Chiefs running back, twisted his ankle in the second half of their victorious game against the Bengals. He was later spotted leaving the stadium on crutches and in a walking boot. The team has since placed him on the injured reserve, ruling him out for a minimum of four games.

Joe Mixon, who plays for the Bengals, left Sunday night's game with an ankle injury. An MRI will be conducted on Monday to determine the extent of the damage.

Justin Jefferson, the wide receiver for the Vikings, left the game against the 49ers with a thigh bruise or contusion. He did not return, but he assured fans that it was nothing serious and that he would recover soon.

In a blow to the Rams, Cooper Kupp suffered an ankle injury during the first half of their game against the Cardinals. The veteran receiver did not return to the game and was seen wearing a walking boot on his left leg after the match.

Taysom Hill, the Saints' tight end, left the game against the Cowboys due to a chest injury. He did not return to the field.

Laiatu Latu of the Colts had to be ruled out of the game due to a hip injury, impacting their pass rush.

Vita Vea, the defensive lineman for the Buccaneers, was ruled out against the Lions due to a knee injury. An initial diagnosis suggests an MCL sprain, with an MRI scheduled for Monday to assess the severity.

DeForest Buckner, a vital defensive lineman for the Colts, was carted off the field with a leg or ankle injury during their game against the Packers. X-rays came back negative, but an MRI will determine the severity of the ankle sprain. Buckner's availability for the next game against the Bears is in doubt.

B.J. Hill, a defensive tackle for the Bengals, succumbed to a hamstring injury during the first half of their game against the Chiefs. He did not return to play.

C.J. Mosley, the Jets linebacker, was forced to leave the field due to a foot injury during their game against the Titans. He was taken to the locker room on a cart.

Jerome Baker, a linebacker for the Seahawks, suffered a hamstring injury during their game against the Patriots.

In a devastating blow, Jermaine Johnson II, a pass rusher and linebacker for the Jets, is believed to have torn his Achilles tendon in their victory over the Titans according to Jets coach Robert Saleh.

Finally, Graham Gano, the Giants kicker, aggravated a hamstring injury during their game against the Commanders, leading him to leave the field. Punter Jamie Gillan took over the kickoff duties.

Week 2 of the NFL season showcased the brutal reality of the sport, with injuries impacting key players across multiple teams. As the season progresses, teams will have to adapt and shuffle their lineups in order to compensate for the absence of these impactful individuals.
