Walmart is set to introduce a new addition to its lineup of affordable streaming devices, this time with a "Pro" model featuring Google TV. The company has been steadily releasing budget-friendly Android TV and Google TV streaming devices, and now it seems they are aiming to offer a more advanced option for tech-savvy consumers.

Currently, Walmart has four streaming devices based on the Android TV operating system. In 2021, they launched a 4K streaming box and an FHD streaming stick, which were praised for their competitive prices. Then, in 2023, Walmart refreshed the lineup by introducing a new duo based on Google TV, starting at just $15.

The recent discovery of a Bluetooth SIG listing has shed some light on Walmart's upcoming "Pro" device. Named "Onn 4K Pro Streaming Device" with Google TV, the listing does not reveal any specific features or design details, but the "Pro" label suggests that it will offer enhanced capabilities compared to the existing models. This could potentially include increased RAM, storage, or additional ports.

It has been confirmed that the "Pro" device is listed alongside Walmart's current 2K and 4K streaming devices, and it first appeared in January, indicating that its release may be nearing. Another listing with a date of April 9 has also been discovered, adding further excitement to the anticipation.

The market for Google TV devices currently lacks a "Pro" option that offers multiple input ports, a powerful processor, and expanded storage beyond the commonly seen 8GB. While the Nvidia Shield TV does provide these specifications, it comes with a higher price tag starting at $150 and still operates on Android TV, not Google TV.

The exact release date for Walmart's "Pro" Google TV device remains uncertain, as the company's devices often appear on regulatory listings and its website long before their formal release. In the meantime, Walmart's existing FHD and 4K Google TV streamers are readily available at affordable prices of $15 and $20, respectively.

Tech enthusiasts and streaming device users are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Walmart's "Pro" Google TV device, hoping it will bridge the gap between affordability and advanced features. With its potential to disrupt the market, Walmart is set to attract even more attention in the streaming industry as they continue to provide affordable options for consumers.
