### Vikings Defense Shines as Team Inches Up in Power Rankings

The Minnesota Vikings have climbed the NFL power rankings ahead of Week 10, landing at No. 6 in several rankings after their latest victory against the Indianapolis Colts.

In NFL.com’s rankings by Eric Edholm, the Vikings moved up one spot to No. 6. The win showcased a revitalized defense, which had underperformed since their Week 6 bye. Brian Flores’ defensive squad was relentless, intercepting Joe Flacco and limiting Jonathan Taylor. The defense allowed just six offensive points from Indianapolis, all from field goals, while their only touchdown came from a disputed scoop and score caused by Sam Darnold.

Similarly, Bleacher Report's NFL Staff advanced the Vikings two spots to No. 6. Despite turnovers from quarterback Sam Darnold, who fumbled once and threw two interceptions, Darnold redeemed himself by throwing three touchdown passes in the second half. Contributions from key players like Justin Jefferson helped secure the win. Head Coach Kevin O’Connell expressed confidence in Darnold, while Jefferson highlighted the minor nature of the turnovers, stressing that the team could fix those issues.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports also saw an improvement, moving the Vikings up two spots to No. 7, highlighting the defense’s strong performance.

Nate Davis from USA Today, however, moved the Vikings down one spot to No. 6, acknowledging the recent acquisitions of Cam Robinson at left tackle and Cam Akers at running back. Davis emphasized that this season is crucial for the Vikings as they aim to capitalize on their existing roster strength.

The Athletic’s Josh Kendall ranked the Vikings at No. 7, mentioning Justin Jefferson's impressive stats, including leading the league in receiving with 783 yards and achieving a 118.8 passer rating with a notable 22-yard completion.

Conor Orr from Sports Illustrated kept the Vikings steady at No. 6, expressing surprise at Sam Darnold's uncertain future as the team's quarterback despite their current success.

Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer boosted the Vikings to No. 8, praising the team’s defensive efforts and Darnold’s clutch plays, even after a rough start.

Finally, Frank Schwab from Yahoo! Sports moved the Vikings to No. 9, expressing concerns about Darnold’s turnovers, which have been a recurring issue throughout his career.

Overall, the Vikings' defense has been a significant factor in their recent rise, supported by key offensive plays, though concerns about consistency at quarterback remain.
