In the latest breaking news, the University of Utah's football program continues to make waves on the recruiting trail by securing the commitment of highly-touted three-star athlete Mana Carvalho. This marks the 15th overall addition to Utah's 2025 class, further solidifying their strong start to the recruiting cycle.
Carvalho, hailing from Laie, Hawaii and representing Kahuku High School, has been a top priority for Utah in this year's recruiting efforts. With multiple visits to Salt Lake City and an official visit to the program just a few weeks ago, it became clear that Carvalho had a strong interest in joining the Utes.
Narrowing down his options to a top four, which included Arizona, Boise State, Nevada, and Utah, Carvalho made the exciting announcement of his commitment on the 247Sports YouTube channel. Adding to the significance of his decision, Carvalho has strong family ties to the program, as his father, Stewart Carvalho, played for Utah, and his older brother, Kainoa, will also be joining the team after completing his church mission.
Although Carvalho does not plan to serve a mission out of high school, he intends to enroll early at Utah in January. With his commitment, Carvalho becomes the 15th pledge in the class, joining a talented group of recruits, including quarterback Wyatt Becker, receiver Tavian McNair, tight end Drew Clemens, offensive lineman Soren Shinofield, and defensive ends Nela Tupou and Max Fonoimoana, among others.
Currently rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, Carvalho holds an 87 rating, placing him as the No. 67 athlete in the 2025 class. The industry-generated Composite Rating ranks him as the No. 103 athlete in the country, further highlighting his skills and potential.
Utah's successful recruiting efforts in July now bring their total commitments to 15, setting a strong foundation for the upcoming season. With fall just around the corner, the Utes will aim to build upon this momentum as they continue to pursue top-notch talent.
