Additionally, she and her assistant coaches were honored as the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year.
Henderson's coaching prowess was evident during her first season at WashU, where she guided the Bears to a 19-8 record and secured an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round. She consistently demonstrated a commitment to offensive excellence, with her team ranking in the top-10 nationally in multiple categories, including 3-point field goal percentage, assists per game, and field goal percentage.
Prior to her tenure at WashU, Henderson served as an assistant coach at Charlotte for two years, where she made an immediate impact on the team's performance. She helped guide Charlotte to a 19-11 record and a top-four Conference USA Championship ranking, with the team excelling in scoring and field goal percentage. Henderson's coaching journey also included nine successful years as the head women's basketball coach at Coe College and a season at the University of Minnesota-Morris.
On the other hand, Sean Sullivan joins the Hawkeye coaching staff after a stint as the director of player personnel, development, and recruiting operations at North Carolina. Prior to that, he held positions as the director of video for the women's basketball program at Pitt and as the director of scouting & digital technology at Penn State. Sullivan's experience and expertise in video coordination and player development will undoubtedly contribute to the Hawkeye team's growth and success.
