**Aaron Rodgers' Future with New York Jets in Jeopardy as Reports Indicate Potential Departure**
The tenure of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets appears increasingly uncertain as the 2024 season looms. Through 11 games this season, Rodgers has posted an 88.9 passer rating, marking one of the lowest in his career.
Following the Jets' decision to part ways with general manager Joe Douglas and coach Robert Saleh over the past six weeks, speculation about Rodgers' future with the team has grown. According to Diana Russini of The Athletic, it is "increasingly likely" that Rodgers could either be placed on injured reserve or benched in the coming weeks. NFL sources have also suggested that Rodgers being cut before the conclusion of the regular season would not come as a surprise.
This development follows reports that Jets owner Woody Johnson had considered benching Rodgers as early as Week 4. Despite his efforts, Rodgers has struggled to find his form this season, ending the Jets' bye week with the mentioned passer rating and 17 touchdown passes. The team currently ranks 18th in the NFL with an average of 207.2 passing yards per game and 26th in scoring, averaging only 18.5 points per contest.
Russini also highlighted that Rodgers aims to continue his career in 2025, but not with the Jets. The Jets are set to resume their season in Week 13 with a home game against the Seattle Seahawks, where a decision regarding the quarterback situation might be imminent.
