Minnesota Twins' third baseman, Royce Lewis, was forced to leave Tuesday night's game against the Detroit Tigers due to tightness in his left groin. The young star, who has battled injuries throughout his career, shared his worries about the severity of his condition.

During the third inning of the game, Lewis managed a remarkable two-run double off Tigers' ace Tarik Skubal. However, as he reached second base, he felt discomfort in his left groin and realized he couldn't run at full speed.

Manager Rocco Baldelli made the decision to remove Lewis from the field in the top of the sixth inning, stating that his movement was not up to par for the game. The Twins announced that Lewis's condition is currently listed as day-to-day. However, following their 5-3 victory, Lewis expressed ongoing tightness and mentioned the possibility of undergoing an MRI for further evaluation.

While hopeful for a positive outcome, Lewis admitted to being pessimistic about his prognosis. He shared, "I'm praying, but it's usually always horrible news. So we'll see." This sentiment stems from Lewis's history of injuries, including a partially torn quadriceps in his right leg earlier this season and two reconstructive knee surgeries for torn ACLs in the same leg, which delayed the start of his career.

Despite his injury struggles, Lewis has showcased his talent in the major leagues, hitting 31 home runs and driving in 80 RBIs in 100 games, including postseason appearances.

Lewis remained philosophical about the situation, acknowledging the things he can control while expressing frustration over the uncertainty surrounding his current injury. "What I can control, I'm very happy about, but this is out of my control. I have no idea," he stated.

As Lewis awaits the results of his MRI, fans and the Twins organization anxiously hope for a positive outcome that will allow the young star to return to the field and continue showcasing his potential.
