**Fantasy Football Week 5: Top Sleepers to Strengthen Your Lineup**

With the 2024 fantasy football season in full swing, fantasy managers are now scrambling to address key positions affected by injuries and shifting player roles. As we move into Week 5, focusing on potential fill-ins for both offensive and defensive players can give your team the edge it needs. Here, we highlight several sleepers available in more than 50 percent of leagues based on FantasyPros' consensus roster percentages.

Among the quarterbacks, Seattle Seahawks' Geno Smith has been a standout performer. Having thrown for a career-high 395 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions, Smith leads the league in completions (115) and passing yards (1,182). He should continue his hot streak facing the New York Giants' 14th-ranked pass defense, which has already allowed six passing touchdowns this season.

Alexander Mattison from the Raiders is another player to watch this week. He has increasingly outperformed starting running back Zamir White, logging significant yardage in recent games. With head coach Antonio Pierce noting that Mattison has "earned more reps," and with Davante Adams likely sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Mattison could see a larger role, including more pass-catching opportunities.

The Kansas City Chiefs, dealing with an injury to Isiah Pacheco, are expected to lean on a running back committee that features Kareem Hunt, Carson Steele, Samaje Perine, and potentially Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Last week, Hunt led the backfield in touches and gained 85 scrimmage yards. Going against the New Orleans Saints' defense, which ranks 26th in yards per carry allowed, Hunt is a strong RB2 or flex option.

For those tracking the Indianapolis Colts' situation, Jonathan Taylor's mild high ankle sprain could sideline him for Week 5. Trey Sermon, next in line, could capitalize against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have given up a rushing touchdown in each game this season.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks should also be on your radar. With Christian Watson sidelined due to a high ankle sprain, Wicks is expected to take on a larger role. He's been productive in limited action, tallying eight receptions for 104 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Tutu Atwell of the Los Angeles Rams is another sleeper candidate, especially given the extended absences of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. Atwell has been effective, catching eight out of 11 targets for 175 yards over the last two weeks. The Rams face the Green Bay Packers this week, who rank poorly in passing defense.

Lastly, the Chiefs' wide receiver corps and the New Orleans Saints' tight ends present valuable sleeper opportunities. JuJu Smith-Schuster could see an increased workload due to Rashee Rice's knee injury, while the Saints might turn to Juwan Johnson or Foster Moreau given the Chiefs' struggles defending tight ends.

By targeting these key players, you can effectively navigate the troubling waters of injuries and roster shifts in Week 5, giving your fantasy team the boost it needs to secure a victory.
