In a spectacular addition to the Las Vegas Strip, the Sphere Entertainment venue has been capturing the attention of music enthusiasts since its grand opening in 2023. U2 kicked off the residency series with their breathtaking performances of "U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere," extending their initial 25-show run to an impressive 40 shows, which concluded on March 2, 2024.

When tickets for U2's residency went on sale, rumors began circulating about the next star to grace the Sphere's stage. Former One Direction member and solo artist, Harry Styles, was allegedly offered a staggering $50 million for a residency according to British tabloid, The Sun. However, while Styles did not materialize as the next performer, another exciting act took center stage.

Stepping up after U2, popular jam band Phish mesmerized audiences with four exceptional shows held on April 18, 19, 20, and 21. The band announced that these performances would be their only shows at the Sphere for the year.

With the stage set, it was the ultimate jam band Dead & Company who embarked on their residency, captivating fans with their "Dead Forever Live at Sphere Las Vegas" engagement. The Grateful Dead veterans, Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, along with their spinoff band Dead & Company, treated audiences to thirty memorable shows, spread across three performances on ten weekends. Their renowned mix of rock and improvisation thrilled fans and highlighted their enduring musical legacy. Dead & Company's residency at the Sphere draws to a close on August 10.

Attendees of Dead & Company's shows were treated to an immersive visual experience thanks to the Sphere's world's highest resolution LED display that stretches above and around the audience. The venue's advanced concert-grade audio system, Sphere Immersive Sound, enhanced the overall experience for concert-goers.

As excitement builds for the next residency, rumors are swirling regarding who will take the stage at the Sphere. While the upcoming performer remains a mystery, Sphere Entertainment is reportedly considering an $80 million investment to bring an 80-minute version of "The Wizard of Oz" to the venue. This ambitious production is said to immerse audiences in a magical world unlike anything seen before.

A recent survey conducted by Casino.org shed some light on potential artists favored by the public for the next residency at the Sphere. Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Coldplay emerged as the top three choices among 3,000 participants, with Lady Gaga expressing interest in returning with a new show at Park MGM in the near future.

Excitement continues to escalate as the iconic Sphere Entertainment venue on the Las Vegas Strip establishes itself as a premier destination for unforgettable residencies. With its state-of-the-art technology and incredible roster of performers, the Sphere offers a groundbreaking and immersive experience that keeps the world of music thriving in Las Vegas.
